Anwar Mack, MD
Anwar Mack, MD is a Texan at heart but is proud to call Reno, Nevada his new home. He completed both his residency in Anesthesia and his fellowship in Pain Medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL.
During his training in Anesthesiology he saw the impact chronic pain had on his patients. It was his time in the Pain Medicine department where Pain Medicine physicians, Physical Therapists and Pain Psychologists worked together to give patient’s control of their life. Dr. Mack believes the needs of the patient come first and treating others the way you would like to be treated is the best approach to patient care. He believes treating psychological pain is as important as treating physical pain. “My goal is to help you spend more time with your family and friends, and less time in pain”.
During his time at Mayo Clinic he became skilled in ultrasound guided peripheral nerve stimulation implantation, ultrasound guided nerve blocks, regenerative medicine and practicing evidence-based medicine.
Dr. Mack joined Nevada Pain and Spine Specialists in July 2020. In his free time, he and his wife operate a small company called “Givlets”, making care packages for the homeless. If he is not working in the community, he enjoys spending time with his family, church, sailing and exercising.
